Have you ever wondered the difference between school basketball or AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) basketball? Well, I got the answer for you. I will be giving details from my experience, what I know about basketball, and everything I know from playing. Today, I will be comparing and contrasting the different from select and school basketball. First off, any sport is a commitment to playing on the team. You always need to try your hardest and give it all you got. Because from my experience some coaches, AAU or school ball, will not put up with that if you do not try or give it your hardest. For school ball, most coaches want you to try your hardest. But, at the same time some of them will not get as mad if you do not. On the other hand, AAU basketball is a whole different level. If you do not give your hardest, they'll bench you right away. I mean I'm not going to lie, it has happened to me before and it sucks. All coaches,are …show more content…
For AAU, it can cost a lot for some people. Most teams have a pretty big fee when you want to play on their team. Some teams for AAU you may have to pay up to $500. Compared to school basketball when you have to only pay around $100. But, the real question is which one makes you better? AAU, even though it cost a lot. But, AAU can teach you a lot of things and get you better as a player. How do you think most NBA players get scholarships. From playing AAU basketball. You may think “ Oh, you still can get scholarships from playing high school basketball.” True, but that's one downside of high school basketball. You have a lower chance of getting seen by a college, unless you're one of the top ranked players in the country. School ball is good at times, but AAU is just better because you can get seen by colleges, you get to meet new people, learn new skills, travel, and much more. While with school ball, what do you get? Play with your friends, mess around, play a couple games, and maybe a few more
