Both Banaji and Greenwald wanted to learn more on the subject lies that people not only tell others, but at times to themselves. While gray and colorless lies are a part of this spectrum, I will only be discussing the white, red, and blue lies. The author describes white lies as lies that are harmless and are told to spare someone of a negative feeling. An example of this is telling someone good game even though you completely dominated them throughout the entire game. Another would be when your mom says dinner will be ready in a minute knowing good and well that will take another half an hour.
