The magic helper in “Aschenputtel” shows that the story came from German culture. Aschenputtel’s father gave her a twig in which Aschenputtel planted and her tears helped the tree grow into a big tree. Later doves come over and if Aschen told them to do anything or give her anything they would provide. Becan was a mistreated boy who lived in a farm as a herd boy until a mean speckled bull came and was about to try to attack him, but Becan calmed it. The bull gave him food daily and gave Becan company. But then his mother found out about the bull and then was gonna try to kill it. But the bull instead ran away with Becan to only another way to death. The bull told him to twist of his tail when he died and Becan did. The tail helped him on his journey later on. Using the motif “Magic helper” this can describe the location of where the story came from because farming is a big thing in Ireland, most people live off of it.
