The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, tells the story of two young afghan boys, Amir and Hassan. Due to the riches of Amir's father, Baba, he is able to have a privileged life. However, this is quite different for his friend Hassan, being that he's the son of a servant. Although the two shared great memories within their childhood, Amir envies the love Baba has for Hassan. His envy led him to take advantage of the loyalty Hassan had stored for him. For example, he would mock Hassan's intelligence, and although this may not be the most tragic flaw, he lacked the courage of not stopping Assef rape Hassan. Hosseini displays that Amir's most tragic flaw is his jealousy toward Hassan, but he proved to overcome this jealousy by rescuing Hassan's
