Compare And Contrast Amerigo Vespucci And Henry Hudson

Amerigo Vespucci, Jacques Cartier, and Henry Hudson are only a few examples of European white men who helped to shape the US as we know it today. These men not only helped found America, but they brought their country’s cultures along with them. Vespucci traveled from Spain, along with supplies to find new trade routes which would hopefully make waterways around North America. Cartier, on the other hand, was from France, he explored mostly to look for gold, silver, copper and spices. He wasn’t, however, trying to hurt the land or native people in the process, like other explorers were. Henry Hudson sailed for England, he was looking for new information on the North American water routes and trading between different countries. These explorers aren’t the only explorers that sailed to America, but the other explorers also come from all over the world. Amerigo Vespucci brought many different things to his voyages, he wasn't trying to find a new land for Spain. He was instead looking for new trade routes and to study the land he might find. With him, he would bring paper, compasses, and ink, along with the “normal items” that would typically be brought on a water voyage. He sailed for King Henry the 7th. Henry Hudson was attempting to find new information on the North American water routes and a quicker way to trade between countries. He went across the ocean from England to try and find Asia, although he didn’t succeed. When he had found the new world, he knew that he hadn’t landed in Asia, unlike another explorer. Henry had indeed found India after his voyage to North America. After trying for years, he had indeed succeeded at his finding quicker trade routes which he did indeed do.
