“Family is the most important thing in the world” by princess Diana. Beside family some people have to go to school. They need to management their time in order to complete school work and house work. For children, school is the most important thing for them. When they have time after homework they can help their parents do chores around the house. If you are still living with your parents you should make them feel proud of you. They are the one that raised you up and let you go to school to learn. In the two readings, “One for the Home Team” and “The Professor Is a Dropout,” Jody and Guadalupe struggle with family and school. Both Jody Adewale and Guadalupe Quintanilla have to deal with family responsibilities and they didn’t give up with school. Jody support the family by giving his scholarship money to his parents for rent. He brings home leftover food and discarded T-shirts and sweat pants. After practice he will go home and do chores. Sometimes he has to left campus suddenly and drive them to the places they need to go. Author William Paul Plaschke points out that “They allowed me to get out of Boyle Heights and come to the greatest college in the world” (2). Basically, Plaschke is saying Jody didn’t give up with school and got accepted into University of Southern California. Now it’s time to pay his parents back the money. If Jody give up with school he would not get into USC. Early in his college career, some USC coaches said Jody should transfer to a smaller school but Jody rejected. It would be hard his whole career but Jody couldn’t leave his family
