In 1776 when the states had decided they were going to pronounce freedom from Great Britain, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson were working one next to the other in the battle against the oppression of Great Britain. It was John Adams that named Thomas Jefferson to compose the Declaration of Independence. Ideally we all see how noteworthy that report was, and is, to our country. Later, both Jefferson and Adams served as diplomats to France amid the Revolutionary War period. It was amid that time that the companionship in the middle of Jefferson and Adams was established. Adams initially met George Washington in 1774 while serving as representatives to the First Continental Congress. The two men feasted together a few times, and were a correlative pair with Adams an energetic talker and Washington a concentrated listener. Adams incredibly regarded Washington and in 1775 pushed for Congress to name him the leader of the armed force. Adams accepted that with Washington in order, "This Appointment will have a great Effect, in cementing and securing the Union of these Colonies.” ( Washington,1775) Both Adams and Jefferson served in Washington's organization. Jefferson served as the Secretary of State and John Adams served as the Vice President. Neither one of the man's delighted in their position. Jefferson didn't care for or handle clash well and butted heads, hard and regularly, with Alexander Hamilton who additionally served in the Washington organization. Adams felt the position of Vice President was a pointless position and was disappointed that he had no impact in the Washington administration while serving as Vice President.
