I honestly believe both sides have good points, but I like absolute music more. Think about it if you have program music that voices only instruments and lacks imagination or inspiration. This kind of music also most times just sounds like instruments playing which is drab. On the other hand, you have absolute music which often uses tonal colors of musical instruments to imitate sounds. These sounds can often be of everyday things or noises you would hear. For example nature’s wind, rain, and thunder as well as the sound of animals and mankind including tools and machinery. Now would you rather hear just instruments playing with just instruments or an interesting melody with a story?
In my argument, I am going to be talking about how I feel absolute music is better than program music. Absolute music is all about the music that actually speaks to you and brings emotion to something. Absolute would be having just instruments and nothing to really connect to. When you had the star wars music or theme this created more of a feeling for fans. No one would want to watch star wars with no music or any other show/movie really because that’s part of what makes it great which if that happened it would be absolute music.

Her songs are beautiful and they always make you feel something whether it be love, loss, sadness, etc. If you try to say you haven’t felt any of those emotions or something similar about at least one song you are just lying to yourself. Her songs truly bring out the emotion and she makes you feel how she is through her sound and words. For example, say you don’t have an ex at all you could hear this song and suddenly you would feel like you just lose or are thinking about your ex when you don’t even really have one. That is the kind of power people should feel with abstract
