Sadako. This is one of the biggest differences in the whole film. Samara’s story and life is a big part of the film and discovered fairly early on. You see a lot of her life and why she was the way she was. The movie is almost centered around her character, you even see her in the well at the end to almost connect everything. Ringu’s Sadako not so much a key factor, they don’t really discover her story until later in the film and its not so much looked into as Samara’s background was. Sadako and Samara both similar but not the same, Samara’s parents didn’t understand why she was the way she was and put her in a mental hospital. Sadako’s mother had the same powers she had and they were passed on to her from her mother. We find out that Samara’s mother kills her by suffocating her and throwing her in the same well Rachel ends up in, but Sadako wasn’t killed by either of her parents, which makes for a big difference between both the films. I think this was very interesting to see such a major part of the films both be so different from the other, yet still work in the same plot together to make the films still so
