Companion Animal Veterinarian Being a companion animal veterinarian requires a veterinary medicine degree or professional degree, getting along and working with all sorts of animals, and traveling to farms, people's homes, and hospitals that need their help. Even though most people do it because they love working with animals, the main priority to the job is saving them in ways that most people can't. First of all, if anyone was even interested in a veterinarian career, they would need a veterinary medicine degree or a professional degree. Usually to earn a doctor of veterinary medicine degree it takes four years. Veterinarians take classes like animal physiology and anatomy, biology, zoology, animal science, chemistry and microbiology. Learning about all of these topics really intrigues me and that's one reason I want this job as my future career.
During the first three years of going to college to be a veterinarian are spent in a classroom and laboratory for clinical practices amongst the animals and their behavior. On the fourth year of college it's normally spent at an animal clinic or hospital. I highly recommend animal lovers should go for this job because it makes the job fun and interesting. I think that once a vet helps an animal, they feel more confident and good about themselves. The hard part about being a veterinarian is putting animals down. That means giving them an injection that puts them to sleep and kills them.
