English Pre-Grammar Class Analysis

From the start of the semester with this class until now, I have improved exponentially. At the beginning of the semester, I took an English pre-grammar test, and the purpose of that exercise was to gauge how much, and what knowledge I had. Over all from the exam I performed horribly. Even before Comp 1 in college I was terrible with anything grammar related. I know grammar is a broad spectrum, but I really had to improve on everything. I had to focus on subject verb agreement, commas, and quotations, run on sentences, and many more things. From completing all the exercises I have exponentially exceled in all of those areas, and I am extremely satisfied. The paragraphs were assignments that were completed through out the semester. If the structure of an essay is sloppy then the paper itself will collapse, and not make any sense what so ever. Those paragraph exercises were helpful to myself achieving success. An essay is made up of paragraphs, and it’s all fine and dandy if the paragraphs make sense, but in an essay it is a completely different story. All of the paragraphs in the essay have to agree with each other, or else the essay would not make any sense. Order is key, and an order needs to be established in the essay. For the first essay it talked about a journey that I went through, and so I talked about going to visit my older sister at her college. I felt like I had to be rather verbose just to get the number of pages needed for the paper. Going through the class the words starting flowing more freely out of my fingers on to the keyboard, and everything I wrote started to make more sense. Before all the writing and grammar exercises I would always write thing sout on paper, and it would not make any sense. What I perceived in my head was different than what was coming out on paper. Practice over and over again made every aspect in writing a more fluid
