For an offender to be successfully reintegrated means being gainfully employed as, offenders are less likely to recidivate and they are contributing to the community. The caseworker’s responsibility is to ensure the offender is meeting the case plan, altering objectives need be and taking away privileges if the offender is not actively seeking employment. The caseworker also gives offenders places to search for employment, monitors outings to the library or to work preparation programs as wells as relays them to potential employers. With both the offender attempting to seek employment and the caseworker supplying resources, they are addressing the unemployment issue in hopes for the offender to successfully reintegrate into the community upon completion of their sentence.
Although one of the goals of CTR is to address unemployment inequalities in offenders that are attempting to reintegrate into the community, the problem is at a macro level as the effects is on the entire society.
