I believe that the United States should require all adults citizens to perform a one year community service by the age of 30, because it can reduce stree, lower blood pressure, and has health benifits. Being able to do community service is also good for the enviorment as well. One of the main reasons why adults should do community service by the time they hit the age of 30 is because if you get streesed out you have something to do. Another reason why;let's say you're working at an animal shelter and you get stressed out you can always take some time with an animal and they'll keep you calm. The third reason why doing community service lowers blood pressure is, because no one really wants to see another angry when they work. when

I have completed many hours of community service and I believe that it is my responsibility to involve myself in my community in any way possible. Getting involved in the community helps build a strong character and it teaches certain values that will benefit other communities. Speaking of community improvement, it is also my responsibility to pay any taxes set for me by our state and federal governments. Without taxpayer money, it would be impossible to maintain many of our most precious and crucial government funded organizations. If the American people allowed those organizations to fade away, we would be hurting our country and helping ourselves.…

George Washington said, “When we assumed the soldier, we did not lay aside the citizen,” meaning that one who participated in public service, including the military, was often the common man, usually a farmer or worker. In the United States, many debate whether there should be mandatory public service. Mandatory public service is a widespread topic, while in many other countries, mandatory service is a normalcy. In South Korea, every male of legal age is required to serve 2 years in the military; if deemed unfit for military service, they must spend 2 years in civil service. Many other countries such as Israel require public, mostly military, service, as well.…

Since college students are well suited for community service, by doing community services, they can "create...a lifelong commitment to volunteering. " They can also start "addressing the needs of those around them" because by doing that, they can help their community become better than it was before. Although performing community service can be helpful towards the individual themself and to those who live in the community, young people shouldn't be required to perform public services. Young people should not be forced to complete something that they do not want to do. Nobody wants to recieve "community service from someone who is forced to serve" because it does not give a good feeling to what they are doing.…
