This paper discusses the development of community-oriented policing efforts, policing behavior from an individual police officer’s perspectives, policing styles, and application of police-community relations programs. Also discussed is the relation between community-oriented policing programs, law enforcement agencies, and individual police officers. This paper also describes the application of different policing styles concerning law enforcement agencies. The application of policing styles and communities societal needs are further discussed with the association of stressful factors police officers are faced with during the performance of their duties.
