1. How have you been able to handle all of your responsibilities throughout high school? Do you feel that you can improve on balancing responsibilities, and if so, how?

In my opinion, I have done an excellent job in balancing my responsibilities in my first two years. I have thus far only made my course load more rigorous, yet my grades improved in my sophomore year. I do feel that I do procrastinate on projects that I find boring and tedious, and that is most definitely a trait of mine that could be improved. I plan on improving by setting a schedule, through a calendar, and sticking to it. This method worked last year, with regards to the quarterly annotated bibliographies, and I fully expect the method’s success to continue.

A Model United Nations conference is a place where I can talk to people about current events, debate about foreign policy, and experience a view that may be different than my own. I have attended every Model United Nations conference in my high school career, winning awards at seven of eight. I am highly experienced in MUN rules and regulations. Furthermore, every conference that I have been to, I have been a delegate. I know what makes a MUN conference so special to me, and I strongly believe that what makes a MUN conference so special for me makes MUN conferences special for all the delegates. It’s the ability to wake up early, go to school, and represent the views of a country that you have never been to regarding a topic you’ve never heard of. It’s the excitement and despair when someone from Crisis walks in and ruins everything you have done so far. Finally, it’s the sense of inclusion that you feel when you are surrounded by people who are just like you, who think just like you. I read the news every day, I pay attention to current events, I follow the UN’s activities, and I wait after every MUN conference for the next one to come. What makes me the best choice for Secretary-General? I have the experience, I have won awards, I follow current events, and, above all, I love Model United Nations because it offers an experience like no other, and all I want is for every other attending delegate to feel the same
