Each year many people experience headaches. According to research, “There are approximately 45 million Americans complaining of headaches each year. That works out to about one in every six people or 16.54% of the population. More than eight million Americans visit their doctor for complaints of headache each year” (Halim, Haq, &Khalid, 2017). That was the case with J.W. which caused the patient to seek medical attention. J.W. went to the emergency department of Community Hospital due to a severe headache that had last for several days. He was seen by Nurse Jackie and Dr. James during his time there at the hospital. The patient was discharged after the pain was reduced from the pain medication that he received during he stay at the hospital.
