In the last couple of months, I wondered what things that I would need to do in case an emergency. When I began reading in the textbook Healthy Young Children, Chapter 4 about getting ready for emergencies, it was then that I started asking questions to my supervisor. (Aronson, Spahr 2012) I had no idea of where we go in case of fire, which exits to use from my classroom and what area outside to take my children. Luckily, with my supervisors help I now know where to go and what to do in an indoor or outdoor emergency arises.

Although police respond to emergencies far less frequently than to routine incidents,32 emergency response is a vital aspect of what police agencies do. Emergency responses, often referred to as critical incidents, are used for crimes in progress, traffic accidents with serious injuries, natural disasters, incidents of terrorism, officer requests for assistance, and other situations in which human life may be in jeopardy. Emergency responses take priority over all other police work, and until an emergency situation is secured and some order restored, the officers involved will not turn to other tasks. There is a discrepancy when a room cannot be used in the way it was designed. The Fireside room, for example, is meant for community gathering, but, when it is occupied by interlopers, that purpose is unattainable. Based on extended observation of this space, vagabond Spring Arbor couples are the prime culprits of this defilement with their displays of affection whilst in the area. In particular, there is a couch within the room that attracts said couples and causes the whole room to be unavailable to any platonic company. The intent of this space is utterly disregarded and is exploited as a “public bedroom” instead of a “public lounge.”…

From the two years of working experience, I observed that this centre practices minimal multiagency partnerships due to the challenges that the management had faced in the past such as misunderstandings and the lack of funding. Thus, I wanted to get the practitioners to visualize beyond the obstacles (Gasper, 2010). I brainstormed (Appendix 2.1) this issue at the weekly meeting to analyze the possibilities that this franchised setting allows. This led me thinking about the centre’s fire safety aspects because I could clearly vision it as a possible imposed change from my knowledge (Campbell-Barr and Leeson, 2016) on the ‘Safeguarding Children’.…
