Macomb Community College and Barnard College have two very different websites, yet they share a few distinct similarities. Like most college websites, the sites of Barnard and Macomb both have information about their schools. They share information regarding their campuses, their student body and faculty, and what kind of college they are. They both also have places on their websites to find information regarding financial aid and assistance, as well as how to apply for their school. Material can be located on each website that tells about news and events coming up in the community. Each site has a course catalog, as well as information about services available to students who attend their school. While Macomb and Barnard have similarities in their websites, they have many noticeable differences as well. One difference being that Barnard’s website has much more information about their students. Barnard talks about their students in a very positive light, while Macomb has more information about the school itself. Barnard’s website makes clear that they are looking for those who see education as something significantly important in their lives. They describe their students as “bold, brilliant, and inspiring.” Much information can be found on their website about the accomplishments of their students and alumni. From their website, a conclusion can be drawn that Barnard values education and views it as a way of expanding the knowledge of students in order to make them the best they can be.
