Community College Student Challenges

When a student chooses to start there college career at a community college it is for many of reason. Either for financial benefits, guaranteed transfers too many Universities, or to gain experience before actually entering a University. During that time a student will go through certain challenges that will not affect and impact them. To elaborate more students who are from out-of-state, struggle with not only financial problems, but also diversity and difficulties of finding a job. Also students who come from a working class, and family members who have already obtain a college degree and, the struggles of coming from a different ethnicity having to deal with stereotypes. Not to mention the struggles of trying to become independent while being a dependent. In this paper I will argue that from a college student’s perspective there are challenges that some community college students goes through. The only thing one can do while in that position is face them head on and not allows those challenges to affect you. Out of State financial struggle tuition is higher than for a resident in the state of Virginia. A resident only pays 171.25 per credits in NOVA. Where in one state a simple resume and experience is all you would need to obtain a career as a veterinary technician, in the state of Virginia you need a license, certificate, or some form of legal document stating that you are allowed to work in veterinary medicine. They also take into consideration that sense you are new to area you probably do not know your way around. There for those living here for a bountiful amount of time are taken into consideration. Which affect an out of state student’s financial stability. What makes it even harder is when you are faced with those financial struggles coming from a working class
