The goal of the program is to offer college education in a different path than attending a 4-year institution for all four years. American Honors offers assistance to students through scholarships and a full fledge army of useful advisors. There are a few reasons why I decided to attend a community college. First, I knew that if went to a community college, my financial aid will cover my tuition and fees. The second reason is that this community college is 15 minutes far away from my home and that really worked for me because I wasn't prepared at that time to leave my family behind. To (All) the Colleges that Rejected Me In her Op-Ed, “To (All) the Colleges That Rejected Me”, Suzy Lee Weiss argues that colleges lie to applicants with the line: “Just be yourself,” when in reality, they only accept a specific kind of student. Weiss’s argument is weak however, as Weiss fails to use any logos to back up her claim and instead comes off as a close-minded, slightly racist and homophobic privileged teenager simply ranting about not getting in, whom is not the type of student elite colleges seek to accept. Though her argument is weak, Weiss starts off her Op-Ed well, stating in the first sentence: “Like me, millions of high-schoolers… are asking themselves this week how they failed to get into the colleges of their dreams.”…

My work background might not be as extensive as my other college students in their senior year, but it shows that I am dedicated to the places where I am employed. I currently work at the Springhill Suites Denver Downtown in the Food and Beverage Department working in banquets and also at the hotel-run restaurant, Degree Metropolitan Food and Grill and have been there since August. Before that I was an intern there for the spring semester (2015) where I rotated through all the departments and helped plan the Art Night under the guidance of the Sales Team.
