The article “The Good That Community Colleges Do, Part 1” by Rob Jenkins evaluates some of the things they do well at community colleges and the opportunities it creates for the students. Jenkins states, “Recent studies on the value of two-year colleges were contradictory because what we do well is hard to measure” (“The Good That Community Colleges Do, Part 1”). The thee things that Jenkins focuses on that do well at and creates an awesome opportunity for students are: the advantages of the open doors, second chances, and early entries. The purpose of this program is to assist students from the day they enter the college until the day they graduate in class registration and the transfer process. The goal of the program is to offer college education in a different path than attending a 4-year institution for all four years. American Honors offers assistance to students through scholarships and a full fledge army of useful advisors. It was designed to help students achieve a 4-year institution, but for a much more affordable cost. This allows students to lessen their financial trouble coming out of college because they will attend a 2-year institution for the first part of their degree, then attend a 4-year institution for the final two years of their degree/program.…

Thank you for considering The University of North Florida as your home for the next four years. The admissions team is very displeased to inform you that there will not be room here for you at our college. After reviewing your essay and application we were all very entertained but doubtful we would ever be able to meet you. My favorite part of your application had to be when you explained why you didn’t do very well in your Spanish three class, “I got a C- in Spanish because yo no hablo espanol.” All of us who read your application got a kick out of that.…

P1) The present day community college used to be known as junior college, and anytime I hear this defining term, I cringe. There is nothing junior about community college these days. Just about anything I can do during my first two years at a four-year college or university, I can also do at my local community college. Many of my friends who went straight to a university after high school.…

Currently, community colleges are on an arise for their attendance and knowability. Community colleges are having an epidemic that is causing its structure to be rethought. Revamping Community College In the article “Revamping Community Colleges to Improve Graduation Rates” it talks about ways that people of education are working to help improve the graduation rate. While I am all for more people going to college and getting degrees, I do not agree with the changes that the article suggests. One of the changes that they are trying to enforce is the idea of free college. In the article, it states that “Bills are pending to carry out President Obama’s America’s College Promise proposal to make community colleges free to responsible high school graduates.”…

There are a few reasons why I decided to attend a community college. First, I knew that if went to a community college, my financial aid will cover my tuition and fees. The second reason is that this community college is 15 minutes far away from my home and that really worked for me because I wasn't prepared at that time to leave my family behind. I know that I made the right decision because I'm getting the same education that other colleges and universities offer, but less expensive. The third reason is that I love small classes because I get to have a really good connection with my professors and my classmates and for me that is really important.…

To (All) the Colleges that Rejected Me In her Op-Ed, “To (All) the Colleges That Rejected Me”, Suzy Lee Weiss argues that colleges lie to applicants with the line: “Just be yourself,” when in reality, they only accept a specific kind of student. Weiss’s argument is weak however, as Weiss fails to use any logos to back up her claim and instead comes off as a close-minded, slightly racist and homophobic privileged teenager simply ranting about not getting in, whom is not the type of student elite colleges seek to accept. Though her argument is weak, Weiss starts off her Op-Ed well, stating in the first sentence: “Like me, millions of high-schoolers… are asking themselves this week how they failed to get into the colleges of their dreams.”…

Before that I was an intern there for the spring semester (2015) where I rotated through all the departments and helped plan the Art Night under the guidance of the Sales Team.
