A little green piece of paper called money rules the world in the United States since we are a capitalist country. It determines everything we do in life to what we wear, what we eat, and even the places we go. Making a decision to go to college comes with a lot of responsibility because we have to worry about finances. I believe the government should figure out a system that would make community colleges free for anybody willing to pursue higher education. Going to a free community college will help out many people and especially college students. One reason to make college free is that it will not be a financial burden to the students. Going to college and wanting to educate ourselves shouldn’t be a place where we have to worry about money. The college bills are outstanding due to the fact that there is tuition fees, book fees, maintenance fees, application fees, registration fees. Everything adds up and that would just be for one semester. How would a college student be able to pay all that money while trying to go to school? Its not just a few hundred dollars this is thousands of dollars we are talking about. In a recent study by CNN due to climbing tuition, 40 million americans have at least one outstanding student loan. The government only provides financial aid to low income families. That isn’t a good system because that puts a divide into American families. They believe that middle class families can afford to pay outstanding college tuition bills. In order to be able to afford that they would need to take out loans. That would automatically place them in debt, owing money to the government. If something goes wrong they will be in the same position as low income families where the children will need to contribute to the family income. College should be a place of learning, not about paying tuition bills that can place students along with their families in
