This study has a two-fold purpose, such as: (a) to develop a clear understanding of innovation; and (b) to propose an easily adaptable and universally accepted process of innovation, which requires two different approaches as mentioned in section 3.0. Therefore, this will be a mix-method research covering four distinct phases.
Phase I explores individuals’ personal constructs, and perception of different factors, which influences the process of innovation.
Phase II offers a challenge to individual samples to address. However, the outcomes will be evaluated by a panel of experts in order to determine which outcome(s) can be considered an innovation. Knowing the samples, and identifying the individual differences in the process of addressing a challenge is the primary purpose of Phase I, which includes (a) identifying personality traits of each sample; (b) identifying each sample’s understanding and beliefs of the issues associated with the organization, community, and the challenge, which either supports or inhibits the process of innovation; (c) identifying samples’ perceived needs by focusing on individual’s desire or interest, and organizational and community perspectives, (d) identifying each sample’s vertical and lateral thinking skills that help in making decisions; and (e) creating each sample’s profile based on age, gender, and other attributable-qualities.
