Communism is a political system where all economic and social is controlled by a totalitarian state. Totalitarism is a system that requires subservience to the state. Communism has never fully worked up to the potential people thought it had when Karl Marx created the communist party in 1844. The idea to fully bridge the gap between rich and poor never worked. Socialism is a toned down version of communism in the fact that communism controls the whole state while socialism controls a big piece but not the whole pie. Joseph Stalin was commander of the USSR from 1929 to 1953. Stalin led the Soviets to world war two and was responsible for the death of more people than Adolf Hitler. 34 to 49 million unnatural deaths were linked to Stalin. The causes of so many deaths were famine, purges, government killings and prison camps. Another well known dictator is Kim Jong Un. He is the leader of a North Korea that has spiralled out of control. Many reports show that North Korea has an insane number of people that are starving and are homeless. Previously, a couople of months ago, he fed his uncle to a pack of dogs. It is illegal to leave or enter the country.
There are not many up sides on communism. While the cons outweigh the pros in this economy, the unemployment and crime rate is way down. Almost every able person can contribute to the economy because there are always jobs. These jobs are mainly in factories that create export goods. The crime rate is down because nobody is forced to take part in illegal activity to get a meal. Also health care is available to anybody.
