Communicative Pain Management

The 10th question asks about the value of the research. In considering how valuable the research was, the conclusion and recommendation of this study provided a new challenge to the clinical practice. In the conclusion the author states that none of the participants had a clear idea about the post operative pain management and they did not receive any information about it. Therefore, in this report the author recommends the health professionals to give adequate information about the pain management to the patient and if needed follow up services should be provided. This theory gives adequate information to the nursing practice. Even though, this study has some limitation on the sample size and the time gap between the interview and the surgery, it can serve as a starting point to modify the pain management regimen after the breast cancer surgery. May and Holmes (2012) suggest that before putting the research into practice it is very vital to check its relevance to the clinical practice. As this study clearly demonstrated the need for changes in the pain management strategy, the author did not identify the need for any new studies regarding this subject.
