Communication Skills In A Productive Workplace

Over the past decades, a communication skill is an important element of a productive workplace. It is a way to convey information clearly and simply by which means things are understood and get done. For leaders, having good communication skills could help them to engage staff and reduce turnover, which create a successful working environment. As mentioned in the Techcomm 7038 module, good interpersonal communication addresses:
1. The feeling attached to it
2. The facts of the matter, and
3. The preferred action
Since it is a two-way street, which not only about transmitting messages, but also receiving messages clearly, then the abilities to read the audience is inevitably needed.

I strongly believe that discover what matters on those facts is important. If it is needed, I usually double checks the facts since it needs to be clear before I deliver them and make sure that they are accurate, and in the proper format which is required by the recipient.

Even though some people say that body language is an intuitive knowledge of non-verbal communication, I believe that human can learn about what the body is really saying. In the face to face verbal communication, body language is an essential element because it has a significant role, transferring the message as the unspoken words. Communication training program
Nowadays, it is easy to find sophisticated communication training program which is provided by famous people, companies and universities. In 2005, it was the first time when I learned about communication skill. This training program was taught by Indonesian famous presenter, Tantowi Yahya. It gave me insight and new knowledge which made me starts to think that good communication skills are essential asset to support my careers in the future. Then I begin to find and attend more communication training programs.
2. Adopting the communication style of favorite leaders
In these two decades, I have met so many leaders with their own style. Practically, I can learn communication skills from them since they gave me inspiration and example about how to be a good leader. I always think that someday when I become a leader in my organization, my employees will also do the same thing, learn from their leader.
