Communication Skills Affecting Elena's Mental Illness

Communication Skills: This a negative factor that Elena has to deal with. Her mother tongue is Spanish and her first choice of language is also Spanish. This is a problem because she has no family in England who can help, if they had learned English faster than her. This affects Elena because, she will struggle to communicate in hard situation which require her input and time. Her access to services are affected because she struggles to speak clearly and fully to express herself and her concerns. It also affects her access because her self-confidence is lowered at how poorly she may be treated, because of her poor English.
Recommendations:
 Interpreters or volunteer interpreters: Even though Elena is learning English, other step can be taken to make things easier for her. The services can offer their side services like interpreters or translators to Elena to help her understand what her appointments are about what her doctors are saying to her. Volunteer interpreters or translators in the community like other people of Spanish origins or students of Spanish can come with Elena to her appointments.
