Reasoning and Analysis Assignment. Communication is the foundation for sharing information between people to ensure that everything is understood and can be acted upon. Proper communication among individuals is essential in the world today so it is not an exaggeration to say that communication is the life line of everyday life. One very important form of communication is Intercultural communication. Intercultural communication can be defined as communication between individuals of different groups or cultures. Being intercultural competent is very useful, however it is a skill that not many posses. Cultural values influence how people interact with outsiders everyday. Cross-cultural business, adapting in different environments or interacting with people in the work field can be extremely hard when you have not developed intercultural competence. Culture is the common denominator that makes the actions of the individuals understandable to a particular group. That is, the system of shared values, beliefs, behaviors, and artifacts making up a society’s way of life.
