The general definition of communication is; “A two way exchange of information through writing, speaking or another medium” (Day & Leggat, 2015 p105). This is a broad definition of how information can be passed on between people, therefore not specific to a healthcare situation. A more precise definition of communication described in a healthcare setting, is suggested to be; a group of people who are concerned and have a passion for what they do, who learn how to do it better through interacting with one another (Day & Leggat, 2015).
