Demonstrative Communications Communication is a form of communicating information from one person to another person. Not all communication is verbally communicated. Communication can be written or nonverbal communication. Communication needs a sender and an active listening receiver in order for the message to be comprehended. The sender starts the message, and the receiver needs to comprehend the message the sender is sending. The receiver recognizing the senders intended and acknowledges the message by responding to the message the sender. The message from the sender should be clear and appropriate so the receiver can acknowledge and respond accordingly. The sender and receiver can communicate both verbally and nonverbally. When nonverbal signals match with what is being said, the communications becomes more clarified. Body language is a leading instrument that is exercised in communication with what is happening with the receiver or sender of the message. Body language can be facial expression, eye contact, posture, arm and hand gestures (para.2). Facial expression and eye contact are usually the first nonverbal communication the receiver notices. Facial expressions can show emotions that can show a positive or negative. A simple smile can demonstrative a positive effect; as where, a frown would demonstrative a negative effect. Eye contact is another example of demonstrative communication that can show the receiver or sender a negative or positive reaction. If the sender or receiver is consisting looking around instead of making eye contact would demonstrative the receiver is not listening.
