I was a young employee, both in age and my years worked at Tomco. I knew I had a lot to learn and I had people willing to teach me. I had to listen good because there were a lot of things to do with sorting parts that I had to absorb. I also had to show that I was trying and willing to learn so that people can take me seriously and don’t throw me off the bus. People are more willing to give you a chance if you show some effort, so that I did.
There were a lot of different personalities at Tomco but I got along with every one of them. When I was working with somebody quiet, I tried to be quiet too and gave them their space. When I was working with an older person, I tried not to be too juvenile. I tried to be accommodating of everyone’s needs. I put up with countless hours of country music and hard metal music, even though I am not too fond of either. I treated people the way they wanted to be treated or deserved to be treated.
I put up with a loud “potty” mouth and tried to make friends. I don’t know how she got away with it for so long but curse words were leaving her mouth every minute. There was no changing her, so I just tried to be friendly. She wasn’t all that bad except for that her language could use
