I just didn 't want to depend on people because they can disappoint you sometimes. I am a responsible person I like to do good in my classes and finish everything on time. Not many people are like me, sometimes they do not do anything because they know someone else can do it for them. College is different because I knew that it was going to be though, I did not want to be alone because it 's hard especially when doing presentations. Meeting my group members for the first time was okay, at first I did not talk to them because we were all really quiet. Most of the times people have to talk to me first in other for me to talk. I need to improve my communication skills because I am not going to go anywhere if I don 't speak up. After I got to know my group members I felt more comfortable with them. My friends tell me how their groups are and I feel really lucky to have this group because we did good overall. For the first presentation, as a group, we were discussing the topic for our presentation; Everything went well we all gave ideas, and we all agree to do what we chose. At the beginning of the fall semester we learned about the social tensions in groups (primary tension, secondary tension, tertiary tension) and the five stages that happen in every group. Antecedent is the first phase of the group, and when a new person becomes part of your group it can make a positive or negative impact. The …show more content…

Given the situation and the capacity of the class I think they did what they could to address things. The feedback from the teachers was beneficial for me because I don 't have to write lessons in my platform and everything is on the PowerPoint that we present to the students. Although I don 't know everything majority of the information that was presented was not new to me and don 't fit my platform. I have been in education a very long time so it wasn 't as helpful to me as it would be someone coming from a different profession with no teaching experience. I do see the benefit of this class for those students new to teaching because they have questions that most students in my particular program already know because most of us are in the classroom and have people we can ask.…

Final Essay If I was to talk about English 110, I would say that I have learned a lot throughout this semester. There were many struggles I have faced, but overall it was a fun class to be in. When I first came into this classroom, I felt it was going to be useless because I already took English 110 and English 111 in high school. The reason was because I got the opportunity to study English 110 and 111 due to my grades. What made me have to take this class again in college is because I wasn’t planning to go to ICC, so I didn’t pay for it as a credit.…

One goal I wish I had worked a little harder towards would be my participation in class discussions. I have always been really shy and especially quiet in class. Oftentimes I would know the answer to a question or have an idea, but not matter how hard I tried, I could not bring myself to raise my hand. I wish I had improved on this skill because in the upcoming years, it will become crucial for me to participate in class discussions. Another goal that I did not meet was improving my nonverbal delivery skills.…

For me I did not have that privilege, it made teaming up with someone rather hard. Also not knowing that person, or the group made it hard to connect with each other because we did not have each other’s information. The best part about this class, I think was the guest speakers that came to present to the class. You should definitely be present for these presentations because they have a great…

The WAC unit was very helpful for me. It pulled together all of the course content from our readings and class activities and helped me to see where I could go with the new things I have learned. This is awesome because that is exactly what I wanted to get out of this class. I wanted to make my understanding of teaching language arts bigger, better and richer. With that said, the WAC unit was really difficult at first!…

I have learned how to work hard and I could study for hours on end now, however I don’t think that would be healthy physically or mentally, and definitely not socially. I want to learn how to study in a way that I can get things to stick inside my head more quickly and in a way that I will know how I can apply what I learned to my life. in short I want to learn how to learn better! Lastly one of my biggest weaknesses has been my confidence in myself and in the work that I do. I have always been quiet in class and have not participated near as much as I should have just because of my lack of confidence in myself and in my work.…

I have become more proficient in my class participation because because I have gotten used to the people in my classes as well as the teachers. In the beginning of the year I rarely participated in any class because I didn't feel comfortable that I didn't know them well. But as I interacted more with my peers so I started participating more and more. Another thing that I have become more proficient in class is my note taking. Before I used to not take any notes for any class because they didn't seem important.…

I enjoyed meeting new friends in this class and getting to work with people I didn’t know. I liked that you allowed us to pick our own groups and I also liked how you basically let us determine what kind of grade we wanted. For example, if I tried in this class I get an A and if I didn’t try I would probably fail. Something I more so liked about you as a teacher is that you didn’t really check the answers for all the chapter work. I never really wrote the right answers or when I had trouble I would just skip it or write a completely random word.…

When I first signed up for the fall semester course English 101, I did not think much of it at first. I Simply thought it would be another writing course with boring prompts and no challenge similar to high school, but I was wrong. In this semester alone I learned more about writing mechanics, structure, heading, organizing and sourcing than I had previously in my high school career. This being said I was not prepared for this course and did not earn the grades I wanted, but I learned from all my mistakes as I wrote each paper it became slightly better. I feel that high school does not do an adequate job at preparing you for the difficulty and challenge that is created in this environment.…
