Communication: According to the ABAS-3, Pamela’s conceptual domain standard score of 54 (95% confidence interval of 48-60) is in the extremely low range, as high as or higher than 0.1% of individuals the same age. Pamela eliminates on the toilet independently, but needs assistance with cleaning herself. Her caregivers physically prompt her to shower, comb her hair and brush her teeth. She eats with utensils and drinks from an open cup on her own.
Social/Emotional: Pamela does not initiate interaction with peers or other people around her. She is described and has been observed content in being alone. She likes to hear classical music and sits in a preferred chair when in the home.
Behavioral: Pamela engages in aggressive behaviors when taken to the doctor or when she gets her nails clipped. Her caregivers say that she at times becomes impulsive and will pinch or swipe at people for no apparent reason. Sometimes at the dinner table, if cups or other items on the table are left unattended, she hoards them in her area.
During the day at her home, she frequently takes trips to the bathroom, sits on the toilet and digs in her rectum area. She does this for a few seconds, gets off of the toilet, sits in her chair in the living room and sniffs the fingers she used to
