In order to overcome communication barriers in criminal justice organizations to prevent any ethical issues, individuals should make sure that, first of all, they are not speaking too fast or are promoting poor listening skills. Being able to comprehend information and having the ability to speak at a regular speed while still getting information passed quickly is vital in keeping effective, efficient communication. Additionally, language barriers and semantic barriers should be prevented by making sure all officers and anybody involved in the criminal justice system fluently speaks English, has no thick accents or speech impediments that prevent information from being properly passed. Law enforcement officials go against their social contract and misuse their power and authority for their own personal gain, as well as a gain in their position. Police misconduct is not only very unethical, but also dangerous because it relates to inapt activities police officers carry out regarding their duties. It can cause justice to fail to prevail and bias to integrity. Police brutality can be considered one of the most dangerous, as it refers to the act of an officer or officers utilizing extreme brutal force against a person. In the United States, all three of these things remain a problem, as handfuls of these occurrences happen daily. The extent to which police corruption, brutality, and misconduct has caused thousands of deaths in the
United States. Police brutality alone is the cause of over five thousand deaths since 9/11 (Rucke, 2013).
In 2014, a group of police officials in Philadelphia cruelly had a suspect of drug dealing hanging over the terrace of his nearly twenty floor apartment. The prosecutors of the case claimed that this was a method of interrogation. This is not the only instance of corruption by these cops, either; they also have kidnapped a drug suspect and locked him in an inn room
