People use communication for purposes like to work, chat, or testify a verdict. As shown through Shakespeare's Othello with dramatic situations in tragedy, communication has a vital importance in society, and leads to honesty and truth in the worst of times. Communication connects each other together through ways of talking, text messaging, and social media. Job positions like the lieutenant position in Othello was determined by how much Othello liked Cassio at the beginning. Iago was not the best man of the applicants and was extremely jealous when he proclaimed “Why, there’s no remedy.’Tis the curse of service” (1.1.37). Iago states that the position for lieutenant was determined by social status. Iago felt he was more qualified than Cassio in every way, but was out beaten by Cassio and became another reason of revenge towards Othello. It happens in reality when someone receives a job because of interior connections with employees or managers in the company, and put credentials at a lower priority when interviewing. Status was very important at the end of Othello when Iago stays quiet so he does not admit any more of his plan. His reputation is already ruined as he says “Demand me nothing. What you know, you know./From this time forth I never will speak word” (5.2.355-356). He already sabotaged himself completely with his communication, so he does not even bother saying anything else because everyone hates him for his status

His tone is rather rash and very demeaning, especially towards his own wife, whom everybody seems to believe is innocent except him and Iago. He calls her a “strumpet” (4.2.81) and a “whore” (4.2.72). She claims ignorance and innocence, but he refuses to believe her. Even when Emilia defends her, Othello is unable to hear any voice of reason. Again, this demonstrates the inferior treatment of the women in the play.…

In many literary masterpieces ‘Outsiders’ are projected as alien characters evoking the curiosity and inquisitiveness of their audience and reader. These mysterious characters are often marginalised from the mainstream society as a result of social prejudice, isolation and their true tragic heroic character. As Othello, Gatsby and Heathcliff are victims, they successfully provide a close insight into the anxieties and conflicts of society in their day by introducing the social stigmas an outsider would have been exposed to in their contemporary times. Othello’s character is a reflection of those victims who in retrospect have tolerated constant racial discrinimation resulting in instability and homicide around the character. Whereas in Brontë…
