According to our text, communication is a fundamental aspect of being human. Language is the primary code humans use to communicate and is crucial in forming and maintaining social relationships (Bevan & Sole, 2014). This language has to be a certain quality in order for it to be effective. It is not about how much you talk but about what you talk about. This brings and interesting point about quality. Merriam-Webster.com defines quality as something of a high level of value. So what is most important is not the quantity of words but the quality of the words that you are saying. I know we have all thought at one point that someone you are talking to “talks way too much”. That is an example of a person going for quantity and not quality.
