1. Definition of Asthma:
Asthma is one of the most common type of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). A COPD is a type of disease or disorder to which the airway is affected and causes breathing to be slowed or forced. Asthma is a type of COPD that causes the airway to become inflamed and to be hypertensive (increased pressures in the blood vessels in the airway) due to any internal or external stimuli. The system that is closely associated with asthma is the respiratory system. The way that the respiratory system is responsible for many things such as proving our internal organs with oxygen and to remove carbon dioxide from the body. There are many components of the respiratory system; the first part of it is the nose. The nose is divided into two parts which is called the nasal septum. The nasal passage is consisted of the cilia (fine hairs) which moves particles that are trapped in the mucus (trap particles and contain sensory cells used for smelling) that is secreted by the nasal mucosa. The nasal cavity also have extensions which are called the paranasal sinuses (holes that are in the skull which is adjacent to the nose).The paranasal sinuses help to give resonance to the skull and also help with lighten the skull. There are four pairs of paranasal sinuses the fontal, the ethmoidal, the sphenoidal and the maxillary sinuses.
