While parenting techniques were important, I am already aware of what sort of parent I will be. However, because I know I tend to focus more on “being nice”, discipline is a tough subject for me to think about. This is something that my older sister has done and as I have gotten older, have thought more about doing. While I might not do this for the birth of my first child, I am seriously considering it. Having various woman talk about their profession and watching the business of being born helped reassure me that this could be a viable option. As long as the pregnancy is low-risk, it is sometimes safer than hospital births. In addition, there is more flexibility in types of birth (water bath, birthing chair). Having that personal connection with a midwife when bringing your child into the world would be a comfort in the whole
