Advertisers persist in domineering the youth’s TV viewing (Rideout et al,.2010; Common Sense Media, 2013), and the majority of their viewing is still an ad-supported staging such as; advergaming and online marketing. According to Authors Dorothy G. Singer and Jerome L. Singer’s “Handbook of Children and the Media”, “websites not only contain traditional billboard or banner-style advertising, but also include advergames that are included in 63 percent of children’s websites” (Sage, 2011). Advergaming is a downloadable or Internet-based video game that advertises a brand-name product by featuring it as part of the game, but has it possibly been much more. Think about how much video games entails and the content that is displayed in the game. For example, many games have the latest brand of clothing or sneakers enclosed, children are most likely going to want the items because it was seen in the …show more content…
Video games absorbs not only children’s time, but mental as well, for long periods of time, causing even more blurring of boundaries (Montgomery et al., 2013), playing an immeasurable personification on the youth in society
