“Do not say, ‘Why were the old days better than these?’ For it is not wise to ask such questions.” Solomon used a common question asked by thousands of people as dialogue in this excerpt to relate back to the responder. From this, the responder is reminded of the numerous times they have asked this question during a difficult period in their lives. The period being caused from either a discovery, something one does not wish others to discover, or the discovery process. Solomon states it is not wise to ask such questions on the grounds that if a person cannot let go of their past, they cannot explore their future. It is only when the person acknowledges and forgives their own past, they can move forward.
