In this article, a key idea that I read about was how integrating technology into the classroom is sometimes put on pause because of the teacher’s knowledge and experience with technology, pedagogy, and content (TPAC). The world is constantly changing and that is including technology. It is a teacher’s responsibility to change and grow with these changes that can be so important to student’s lives and help them to better their future and education. Technology is a complicated thing, but integrating it into the classroom betters the students because they are learning in a more fun and engaging way, rather than reading word-for-word from a textbook. Integrating technology into the classroom could start at watching a simple video clip about a topic or go all the way to doing a whole unit straight from computers and tablets. I think it is important for the teacher to adapt to the changing world of technology because it offers a wide variety of new ways to teach. As the article suggests, teachers who struggle with technology can pick an easy starting point and learn from there. These basic skills that are need for the students to succeed need to begin somewhere, the students do not just pick them up randomly. Elementary school is the primary beginning where students develop the necessary skills needed in order to be successful and continue their educational career. I think this is something that is very, very important and needs to heard around the world! Parents and students often think that skipping a few days of school is acceptable, especially in the younger grades, but that is absolutely not true. Every single day attending school helps students build up the skills they need to continue onto the next lesson, to continue onto the next grade, and to continue on in life.
