School was great, in fact, everything was great, until the moment my mother came to pick me up from school to take me to my cousin’s house. Curious, yet anxious, little did I know what was to come. The conversation between my mother and aunt seemed normal. However, all of a sudden my mother asked a question: Is Kumon really worth it? A simple answer of yes followed, and that’s when everything turned upside down. Kumon, an after-school program to enhance an individual’s academic ability, was just the thing a third grader was looking to get involved in. The program involved completing a math or reading packet on a daily basis which would then be turned in at the Kumon center. That’s when it all ended. It was a Saturday morning, as I woke up restlessly. It was the fastest I had ever brushed, ate, and showered. The moment had finally arrived: the day I would graduate Kumon. A burst of energy rushed throughout my body as I rushed into the car, eager to see what would happen next. Upon arriving at the center, I had to take a final test about the last chapter, the final obstacle. I finished the test and turned it in. About ten minutes later, my name was called and I shot up like I was sitting on a spring. It was the fastest I’ve ever walked in my life. My eyes lit up and a smile soon
