Commination Pass Down: Case Study Analysis

Decent Essays
While writing the Commination Pass Down Alexis came down to the Welcome Center to complete her overnight pass request form. She was elated to inform me about the new full-time job and enrolling in her new Phlebotomy Program. I encouraged her by complimenting her on a job well done. I continued by asking Alexis about her transition plan. Alexis shared with me that she wanted to continue to save money and then eventually move into the Almost Home apartments. I reinforced the desired behavior by agreeing that she had a great plan and by stating how proud I was of her. I affirmed her behavior by encouraging Alexis to discuss her plan step- by-step with her case manager.

I noticed how her motivation grew and how she was ambitious in her goal setting. It was inspiring for me to see how I was helping someone towards their vision simply by listening to them and asking questions about their goals. I think our coaching experience could have been more effective if we would have spent more time delving further into the client’s vision to set even better goals that would help her reach her…
