Commercial Analysis Have you ever tried analyzing a commercial? Analyzing a commercial gives the reason on why the author wrote the commercial and the reason behind conveying his/her message. Different commercials convey different messages throughout the commercial and also portray different intended audiences as well as they have a possibility of same purpose throughout whole commercial. Target and Honda are famous corporations in the world, they both are well known for their products and services. Target corporation represents a shopping mall while Honda corporation represents cars. The family is going on a vacation using the 2012 Honda Pilot. The rhetors exclaim that millions of people leave everyday on vacations and to enjoy during the vacation, people should use the “redesigned 8 passenger Honda Pilot” (Honda). The author uses “redesigned 8 passenger Honda Pilot” to persuade the families with kids to use the new 8 passenger Honda Pilot to enjoy during the trip. The rhetors target the intended audience to be with families and kids and as many families with kids usually go in cars where there is a lot of enjoyment and comfort. The rhetors make use of the vacations to convey the families to use a Honda Pilot, 2012 version, whenever they go for a vacation. The Honda Pilot target the families with kids as the intended audience because of the car’s model and the design, the car is designed to be an 8 passenger seat which is suitable primarily for families with kids. The author asserts a claim that there is time to make “life better” by using the new designed 8 passenger Honda Pilot (Honda). The rhetors, show that using the new designed 8 passenger Honda Pilot make the life of families with kids better by introducing lot of enjoyment by playing in the car and having comfort. The rhetor uses a positive attitude for kids by providing “Play-Doh”, with a “surprise flask” which is used when the kids in the families get tired (Target). Honda Pilot uses a different way to convey their message to use 8 passenger Hondo Pilot car to the same intended audience. The rhetors use an exciting connotation when the kids where with their family by saying “on a crazy trip” (Honda). Both the Honda Pilot commercial and Target commercial choose the intended audience as families because of the principal items (home décor, bakeware and even turkey) in the Target and the design of the 8 passenger seat conveys to the families with kids to use the car for comfort and enjoyment during the vacations. Both the Target and Honda convey their message through the kids, Target uses kids section and the “Play-Doh” to convey families with kids that the “Play-Doh” can be used by the families for their kids if the kids got bored in the Target while Honda creates most of its song using the kids and their enjoyment during the vacation. The rhetors of Honda Pilot use the words “on a crazy trip” with their family to demonstrates that the word “crazy” is related to the enjoyment, that being said, the kids were enjoying the trip
