Most of the basin is in Brazil and the government is doing everything they can to protect it. Deforestation is a serious issue in the rainforest and it’s causing the environment around it to change at a rapid pace. The precious trees are being burnt to the ground or chopped down so people can have farm land and meet the demand of lumber. The documentary explains that up to eighty percent of the deforestation is illegal and the government is doing what they can to give the rainforest a fighting chance at survival. It goes on to say that a special task force has been given the job to track down the illegal deforestation and arrest them, but with the rainforest being so large it is hard to keep up with the amount of criminals. When Latin America was first discovered people were intrigued by what it had to offer from Brazil’s coffee to the farming land in Argentina and with this curiosity came men who were willing to destroy the land to make money much like the common day criminals who cut down the trees that have stood over
