This painting relates to The Outsiders by showing what the greasers feel like. The greasers have to go endure the fighting and being outlawed because they look like “hoods”.The greasers look like rough tides, swishing back and forth hopelessly because it seems as if they will never get to shine bright like the sun in the sky.This is evident on page 5, “Hey grease, one said in an over-friendly voice. We’re gonna do you a favor, greaser. We’re gonna cut all that long greasy hair off”.
