Of Mice and Men is a novella written by John Steinbeck, and published in 1937. The novella is a powerful representation of how life was during the great depression. It tells the story of two men, George Milton and Lennie Small, searching for work. George was a small and clever man, while Lennie was a dull mentally handicapped giant. The story consist of a big dream of owning their own ranch. They go on this journey, but unfortunately Lennie causes burdens along the way. Steinbeck had a very interesting way of including real world problems into his writings. The issue of how mentally disabled people were treated back then was horrible, and Steinbeck really did a great job at depicting that. I loved how Steinbeck wrote in the same dialect
