Commentary On A Grammy's Song

TL;DR-

Grammy's are coming up and I wanted to put in my thoughts on who should win. Now, I'm not going to go through all the nominees, but I will go through the ones I thought that need the spotlight on.

Reminder, I am not a voting member in the Grammy's or a professional in music, so this is literally based on a teenager seeing the trends and doing her research.

For the past three years, Record of the year has been given to songs that had features with it (probably doesn't make a difference.) The mixture of beat and music in it is really good, Mark Ronson did a good job on engineering the song. I mean, this song was my jam for 2015. The song is good and had a really good year in sales (even though I said that doesn't matter, but it does). The song is so iconic to everyone and even lasted 14 weeks in no.1 in Billboard top 100. I think it deserves a chance to win even though it's up against Taylor swift and Ed Sheeran.

Who should win: Uptown Funk (Mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars)

Who will win: Black Space (Taylor Swift)

Song of the Year

Song of the Year is also awarded for a single or individual track, but the recipient of this award is the songwriter who actually wrote the lyrics and/or melodies to the song. Thus, "song" in this context means the song as composed, not it's recording.

The runner ups:

Alright (Kendrick Lamar)
Blank Space (Taylor Swift)
Girl Crush (Little Big Town)
See You Again (Wiz Khalifa ft Charlie Puth)
Thinking Out Loud (Ed

OutKast, a popular rap group throughout the nineties and early 2000s, has a renowned song entitled “Hey Ya!” which features the smooth flows of Andre 3000 and hard hitting rhymes of Big Boi. The song has been a huge hit for years and is virtually known by every American under the age of thirty. When the song was released in 2003, I was just three years old, but had already adopted my dad’s love for music and I frequented the kitchen tile as my dance floor whenever music was playing. OutKast’s song “Hey Ya!” holds a different weight than most other songs I grew up around because it is one of few memories I remember vividly about my childhood.…
