Even while our country fought a senseless war in Vietnam, while Civil Rights protest were occurring, and with Cuba aiming missiles at our country; they still weren’t distracted from pursuing a higher education. There were numerous other students who were just as determined to reach their victory just like them; and in 2017 I count myself as one of those students. In 1960 the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee was created by young people who stood against discrimination in our country. Most importantly, they were young people who were willing to push through the tribulations and dispositions life offered them. As a young student, I often become distracted and unmotivated by all of the events that occur in the world and my everyday life. I always remember that there were strong people such as the members of SNCC that never gave up. I always ask myself how bad I want to succeed. How willing am I to sacrifice for what I want achieve? I have adopted the mindset of the members of the SNCC. Through studying this organization, I have realized that sometimes the world will not offer you opportunity, but that doesn’t you can’t create one for yourself. I have also learned that anything is possible, despite the dispositions life places upon
