Commemorative Speech Outline

Today I gave the speech of presentation. Awarding my father with the best dad award. I think it was one of the easies speech we ever done. Not only was it quick and simple, but we had the choice between a formal outline and anything else we were comfortable with. I choose to do the formal outline because it seemed to work for me. Not to mentation I was writing from experience, it came naturally. I noticed I started low, so I tried to rise my voice throughout the speech. My goal for this speech was to inform the audience why he qualified for this award. I think I accomplished my goal. But for the first time ever I’m in the fence. After a speech, I would have an idea of what grade I could possible get, but for this one I’m not sure. It is not because I thought I did an awful …show more content…
I thought about bringing a picture of us to class, but I forgot to grab it this morning. The visual would have been very helpful. As I always say there is always room for improvement. Improvement wise more eye contact wouldn’t hurt, as well as speaking louder. I have improved from last time, because I feel more comfortable on the podium. While delivering this speech I felt okay, but I guess that was based on my mood not the actual speech. The strength of my speech was the first body paragraph, because it demonstrates how hard my dad work for the family. Which also make the audience understand why he is qualified for the award. When I glance at the time today, I’ve noticed I already spoke for four minutes. Thank god, I checked otherwise I probably would have went over the time limit. I could learn to enjoy this. This class truly helped me more than I thought it would. I knew it would have helped me academically, but I didn’t know it would help me personally. Now I am more comfortable to speak in public, as well as get my points

Dr. Karsonya Wise Whitehead is a mother, activist, and professor. In her speech for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Memorial Convocation “From Black Power to Black Lives Matter,” she asked her audience, “What can you do and what are you doing?” This question resonated with me for I have asked myself the same question. When faced with the news of brutality and more lost souls, I cannot help but wonder what can be done about such injustice? This pain and disregard for human life, especially for those of color, has continued to be a systematic issue for centuries.…

I got to say a little bit about everything I wanted to and I was able to incorporate some eye contact into my speech. Before I begin this essay I would like to thank Dr. Glenn Brasher, a history professor here at the Capstone, for increasing my knowledge and allowing me to develop more perceptions about life. This acknowledgment to Dr. Brasher is very crucial; because it will help you understand how my inspiration has allowed me to persevere in life. Even though this year has just begun, 2017 has been one of the most eventful and unyielding years since I was in Kindergarten watching the Twin Towers collapse. In 2001, that event created a hole in our nation’s economy, enforced new policies that weren’t fair to all American citizens, and it even led to distrust in our county. As this year slowly unfolds it is revealing how those same affects are taking a…

After noticing the speaker’s confidence during the speech, it became clear that his calmness and ability to speak clearly, his ability to refer to his notes and to use the power point at the same time and also his ability to ensure he was the source of the information he was giving made his delivery good. This informative speech could have been improved with more body movement during the transitions and a good eye contact with the…

Senior Retrospective Speech At first glance high school just seems to be another part of school you have to go through, an insignificant phase in your life that you’ll breeze right through ,but then you actually go to your advisory and you get this sense of professionalism from the staff and teachers here and you feel the urge to feel and act professional to not seem immature. and to some it comes instantly ,that they are now in the final stages of their teenage life have now begun ,to others it comes later in their years. Unfortunately the realization had come later to me. First let's talk about Vaughn.…

The first thing I noticed in my video is that I say “umm” way too often. The first time I said, “umm” in my speech was at 0:10 and continued to say it throughout my whole entire speech. I found it quite annoying when listening to myself. It is my go to word when I am nervous and it is something I really need to work on. The second thing I noticed is that I don’t look professional when giving my speech because instead of standing up straight and tall, I lean to the side and kind of stick my hip out.…

Final Persuasive Speech Reflection Believe me when I say that my progress from then to now has come a long way. Initially after giving the persuasive speech, I felt that there has been little process in all of this time that I had spent trying to learn to communicate more effectively. Worst of all perhaps, I felt powerless to do anything to change this. This was my most practiced speech and it did not feel that way. Even the thought of having to go back and essentially relive those 7 minutes was not something I was particularly excited about.…

Kattie, you did a very fine job on informing the class about gun control and the issues of having guns on campus. For the most part, your speech was easy to follow, but I should caution you and tell you to not be afraid to use transitional phrases as you speak. I felt like there were transitional phrases here and there, but not as much as it should have been. In addition, even though, there was a situation where you was not able to use your visual aids, you still did very good on getting your main idea across. Overall, you did a really good job on discussing and giving facts about gun control, even though majority of the class is not able to bring guns on campus yet, but it's good that you brought this to our attention to think about.…
