First and foremost, I would like to thank “each and every one” of you for your support and prayers during Bryant’s fight with cancer over the past few months. I also want to thank everyone for attending today. It is going to be difficult to put into words how much he meant to me and how much I will miss him. We all know how precious life is, but we took for granted that Bryant would always be with us. He died too soon, but not before leaving a huge impact in our hearts.
When Bryant and I started dating in October of 1990 I was commuting to college in the Twin Cities and he was working nights. Every day when I would get home from college he would give me a letter he had written that day and then would leave for work. I saved every single one, and now, I have a box full to read and to remember. That

Every spring my car was no longer allowed in the garage. The screens would be put on and my car would be parked outside until the fall. I guess I didn’t mind because I also enjoyed entertaining. Bryant was well loved by his friends, colleagues and family. He was very generous and kind-hearted. Bryant and I were meant to be together and I am so thankful that we met. I will never forget all of the wonderful times that we spent together. He was always there when I needed him and I knew I could count on him. Bryant was the most supportive and loving husband and father, and my family and I will miss him so much. Bryant loved our children more than life itself and would have done anything for them. He was an incredible father and he was very close to all of his

After coming a long distance from Richmond, Virginia to Washington D.C, my destination was reached. Just by gazing at the deep-rooted bricks and the old cream-colored columns, I knew this was the right place to be. Strolling into the revived Ford’s Theatre and looking at the waxed mannequins it feels like you are travelling back into the 1860’s. I was already amazed by observing all of the various artifacts and depictions and trying to figure out which attraction would interest me the most to record. Since Ford’s Theatre is a very popular site and has many fascinating facts behind it, The assassination of Abraham Lincoln was the most impressive exhibit to me.…

For my self-critique assessment, I chose to critique my commemorative speech, which was on basketball. Overall, I think that I did a good job on this speech, but there is always room for improvement. First, I think that I had a lot of good aspects to this speech, which include that: I picked a topic that I was passionate about, discussed various life lessons that someone can learn from playing the game of basketball, elaborated on why I feel it should be commemorated, and incorporated some mistakes and rhetorical devices that added value to my speech. As a whole, I think that my speech proved how much of my time and effort that I’ve invested into the game of basketball as well as how much I’ve been through in order to keep playing (ex: injuries). For this assignment, I found it much harder to think about the positives of my speech because I always find more areas of improvement.…
